Welcome to the Oakdene RISE Reception Network

Oakdene Primary Academy is an outstanding and highly inclusive primary school in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees. We are proud to serve a diverse community of 310 pupils, aged 2- 11 with 51% receiving Pupil Premium and 25% supported through SEND provision.

Our reception provision is built upon a rich, ambitious curriculum filled with wonder, memorable experiences and a carefully balanced blend of adult-ledand child-initiated learning. Play sits at the heart of our pedagogy, enabling children to develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively while fostering a lifelong love of learning. A key strength of our practice is early language and communication, with a sharp focus on vocabulary development, oracy and creating communication-rich environments that help every child thrive.

Visitors to Oakdene can see high-quality practice in early language, curriculum design, outdoor learning, inclusive provision, cultural capital and developing confident, resilient and independent learners. Strong relationships with families, consistent routines and exceptional teaching ensure children are safe, happy and ready to succeed.
